STATEMENT FROM JOYCE SULLIVAN, CEO OF FREE OUR SPIRITS NC IN RESPONSE TO STATE ABC COMMISSION PLAN TO SET FLOOR PRICING ON LIQUORS + SPIRITS

“This plan to set minimum floor prices on liquor isn’t about excessive drinking.  You cannot say you are concerned about excessive drinking when boards across the state are conducting lotteries and “Golden Ticket” events promoting drinking alcohol.  This is all about tax revenues and declining sales. It’s about protecting the monopoly.  It’s another bad idea from an ABC system stuck in the Depression era. People are tired of the Nanny State.  It’s time to modernize our state’s ABC system.”
